I believe in using props, listening to your body, saying no to poses that don’t feel good, and seeking to only please yourself (NOT your yoga instructor).
From college, to corporate america, to motherhood —
My yoga practice has continuously evolved. From 6AM studio classes before work, to occasional 10 min online classes at home with a baby monitor next to me or kids jumping on my back in down dog — it hasn’t always looked the same, but it has always made a positive impact on my life.
There’s magic in moving your body (in ways that actually feel good) and connecting to your breath — even for a few minutes.
Prenatal Yoga can join you on your evolving pregnancy journey, all the way through birth.
In the first Prenatal Yoga class that I took, I was encouraged to fully tune into my body — like I finally had permission to do what felt good on my mat, not just what the instructor cued (*spoiler alert: that should be true in ANY class!) After practicing Prenatal through my 3 pregnancies, it inspired the way that I now teach all of my classes (not just Prenatal) — I encourage my students to move in ways that suit their unique bodies.
Prenatal Yoga
This practice was my favorite form of self care during pregnancy. Not only did it feel good in my growing, changing body, but it also offered me a space to tune into my breath and check-in with myself — especially important for my mental health. Prenatal Yoga inspired movements were also incredibly powerful in my 2nd & 3rd labors. This all led me here — to help pregnant people learn and experience these benefits, in person in Minneapolis or in online classes.
